In the United States of America alone, Bosch has gained popularity as one of the leading appliance brands.

Through the years, they have made products that are high-quality, sleek, and sustainable.

However, like most appliances out there, your Bosch dishwasher can sometimes appear faulty. This is especially true if you’ve had it for years and years now.

One of the most common “enemies” of the Bosch dishwasher is the “E24” error code that appears on your dishwasher display, which means that your device isn’t draining properly.

There’s nothing to worry though because this is a common issue with a very common fix.

Here at Factory Appliance Houston, we aim to educate each homeowner, not just in Houston but also beyond. We also aim to teach them how to properly “fix” their appliances, should they need and want to do it themselves.

So here are the five-step process of fixing a Bosch dishwasher that’s showing an E24 error code:

  1. Clean the filter and check the drain pump.

The first thing you would want to do if the E24 error code is showing is to clean the filter of your Bosch dishwasher and check its drain pump. Usually, these are located on the bottom of the dishwasher, but remember to check the manual on how to remove the dishwasher filter to avoid further damage.

It’s also best to check if your drain pump is clogged, so you can better understand why your Bosch dishwasher is sending an E24 error code.

  1. Always check for kinked hoses.

Another reason your Bosch dishwasher might be sending an E24 code error is that there’s a kinked hose. So before going further with your self-diagnosis, ensure that no hose is kinked.

  1. Clean the dishwasher regularly.

Sometimes, we think that our Bosch dishwasher doesn’t need cleaning because it does the cleaning in itself, right? Well, this is a very common misconception. We always need to clean our dishwasher regularly because this can cause the E24 error code if there’s food residue stuck in our Bosch dishwasher.

So it’s best to keep it clean.

  1. Always check the air gap, garbage disposal, and the s-trap.

It’s always best to check the drain hose that connects to either an air gap, garbage disposal, or the s-trap under the sink because the problem with your Bosch dishwasher might lie with this. Cleaning these things might also be the way to solve your E24 error code issue.

  1. You must check the drain hose and the drain pump.

Lastly, if you’ve reached this last step and none of the first four has worked. Then the drain of your Bosch dishwasher might be blocked as it connects to the drain pump. It could also mean that your drain pump may not be obstructed or defective – although a faulty drain pump might be able to display an E25 error code and not E24.

These are some steps that you can take to ensure that your Bosch dishwasher stays in top condition.

Although, if you’ve followed these steps but had no such luck, then it’s best to send in your Bosch dishwasher for repair to avoid further damage.
