Are you ready for the holiday season? If yes, then you should ensure your appliances are in top performance.

In America, celebrations and thanksgivings typically consist of large groups of people eating equally large meals, we want to help you make sure your kitchen is ready for the celebrations. Here are a few tips to make your holiday as stress-free as possible:

Oven

Many people, while trying to get prepared, run their self-cleaning oven prior to thanksgiving. Unfortunately, this can often lead to broken parts on your oven. Instead, take a little bit of time before the holiday to clean the interior of your stove as well as wipe down your stovetop so that it’s ready to go before you start cooking. Be sure to also check that your oven is heating up properly.

Dishwasher

We’re sure you’ll be filling your belly on thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean you have loaded your dishwasher with plates and cutleries. When loading the dishwasher, make sure dishes have plenty of space for the water and detergent to reach them. Also, save yourself some time and don’t pre-wash your dishes.

Garbage Disposal

Don’t overdo it on putting stuff down the garbage disposal. While you might be tempted to put extensive food scraps down the disposal to aid in the cleaning-up effort, it may come back to haunt you through costly repairs or replacements. Avoid putting foods down the garbage disposal that is sticky. Also, avoid any type of oil, bones, shells, or big chunks of foods. Taking out an overflowing garbage can is always going to be affordable compared to buying a new garbage disposal.

Fridge

Take some time prior to thanksgiving to thoroughly clean out your fridge. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of space for all of the dishes that will need to be refrigerated and still allow the fridge doors to completely shut.

And, of course, should you need any kitchen appliance repairs before the big day, don’t hesitate to call. We’ll be happy to help and make sure your home is ready to host a memorable Thanksgiving dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Factory Appliance Houston.
